Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Uwe Ludwig Horn, born in Rosenheim, Bavaria respectively Nordenham, northern Germany, are German entertainers and magicians known for their eponymous show in Las Vegas.
Siegfried is a traditional illusionist; while Roy is known for his rapport with exotic animals, especially the white tigers that were a signature part of their Las Vegas show at the Mirage hotel. Their long-running Las Vegas show of magic and illusion made them “Magicians of the Century,” an award they received in 2000.
Siegfried and Roy met while working as cabin steward and waiter on a German ocean liner in 1957. During their voyage they started performing their own magic act, with Roy's cheetah Chico. Both developed their act and started to work in Las Vegas. They received the Las Vegas Award as Act of the Year in 1972. In 1990, Siegfried and Roy signed a contract with the Mirage hotel, where they performed ever since, signing a lifetime contract in 2001.
In 2003, Roy Horn was bitten by a tiger during a performance. He was critically injured. Siegfried and Roy had to discontinue their regular show. Throughout their career, Siegfried and Roy received numerous awards and were honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for their contribution to live theatre performance.
